Holiday Recipe Contest Winner - Matcha Tea Superfood Brownies
Thank you to everyone who entered our very first Holiday Recipe Contest! It was so fun to see how you all incorporate superfoods into your favorite holiday treats.
Big congrats to Lauren M for winning the grand prize. We couldn't resist her beautiful Matcha Tea Superfood Brownies. They're festive, delicious, and packed to the max with some of our favorite superfoods. Here's the recipe for you to try for yourself at home!
Matcha Tea Superfood Brownies
- 1 cup OLS sprouted walnuts
- 1 ¼ cup OLS cinnamon pecans
- ½ cup OLS cacao powder
- 1 heaping cup of pitted dates
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- ¾ cup warm coconut butter
- 1TB OLS Blueberry Baobab matcha green tea powder
For the brownies:
Combine all ingredients except the dates into a food processor. Pulse until the nuts are finely ground, and avoid over processing. Add the dates a couple at a time in between pulses. The mixture will become sticky, and if needed you can add a teaspoon of water at a time to help it come together.
Place the mixture into an eight inch baking pan (lined with parchment paper for removal if you like) and put in the freezer while you make the frosting!
For the frosting:
Place all ingredients in your food processor or blender and mix for a few seconds until combined. Too much mixing and the oil may separate.
Spread the frosting over the brownie base and put back in the freezer for at least an hour. Cut into squares and serve!
